VISION STATEMENT

For the urban young who questioned their worth to live as God’s beloved treasures.

Comfort: “Benevolence”

Helping with immediate and dire needs such as groceries, utilities, clothing, and rent plus birthday, holiday, and special occasion expenses for important celebrations.

Encouragement: “Outings”

Overcoming the toxic, false belief children can reach that they are “less than” other kids who have been to baseball games, swimming pools, or skating rinks (as examples) but they haven’t.

Strengthening: “Building up”

Investing in educational, spiritual, vocational, artistic, and athletic development through counseling, workshops, scholarships, and supplies to edify them for bright, fulfilling futures.

DEEDS OF LOVE

In the midst of oppressive poverty, crime, and woundedness—children and youth can reach the false conclusion they are less lovable, acceptable, or capable than others. Then hope in this world and the next fades. So Seek and Save aims to pair the words of God’s love for them with acts of love to them. Thus, the Gospel of salvation through faith in Jesus is presented as living hope because “faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead” (James 2:17). Our goal is for these actions of love to be motivated and performed according to divine standards of love (1 Cor. 13:1-13) in an authentic relationship.

Seek & Save is dedicated to the urban young facing a lack of resources, experiences, and opportunities. And we serve those who have suffered from neglect, abuse, and exploitation. Reaching out to them includes going to under-resourced schools, homes in economically-challenged neighborhoods, community-based organizations serving at-risk and exploited youth, juvenile detention facilities, foster homes, and shelters.
