Bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to underserved communities through the words of God and deeds of love.
Bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to underserved communities through the words of God and deeds of love.
In 2010, this ministry began by saying, “Yes,” to some children in economically challenged Oakland-area communities who asked, “Will you take us to church with you?” Several friends began bringing kids who didn’t have rides to church and teaching them of God’s love for them.
Getting to know and love these children and their families led to helping with utility payments and groceries, giving Christmas and birthday gifts, arranging outings like baseball games and fishing trips, and attending school functions.
The outreach then expanded to kids in juvenile hall, at-risk youth programs, foster group homes, and shelters. Many suffer from harm they’ve experienced or seen: neglect, abuse, poverty, homelessness, sexual assault and trafficking, domestic violence, incarceration, gang crime, addiction, suicide, and shootings.
Many kids who grow up with less than others consider themselves as less than others. And kids who suffered much can believe much more suffering is inevitable. So Seek and Save reaches out to these young treasures with the Good News that they are overwhelmingly lovable to God. We strive to deliver the message of God’s gifts of salvation and adoption in authentic relationship accompanied by deeds of love that demonstrate His words of love.
